We have thought long and hard about this over the weekend and came to a 99% decision on Tuesday and totally confirmed tonight.
We are not going ahead with Zuzu's operation tomorrow. We know the operation would only be to confirm an inoperable situation or to decide palliative treatment. Having spoken to friends who have been in the same situation, other cat welfare workers and our neighbour the vet nurse we've decided this isn't a route we want to go down with Zuzu.
Zuzu gets so very nervous and stressed at the vets, with tablets. injections etc. She would hate any prolonging treatment or being on her own at the vets etc. So we have decided to let her live out her days as she is now, in great spirit and comfort then pay the extra to have her put to sleep at home when the time comes.
Beki - I know it's a hard decision to make, but I do think you have chosen wisely.

Oh, I know that must have been a hard decision to make. I'm so sorry for your kitty.
Too bad they don't live as long as we do. :-(

Beki, you made the right call. If faced with the same call I would have made the same choice.

And it might turn out to be infected flea bites after all. That wouldn't be such a bad thing. xx
