The intuitive nature of cats never fails to amaze and amuse me. They do seem to 'know'. I have found when I've had pain they home in on it. If I'm sad they cuddle in and make a fuss even if it means a change in their usual pattern.

Today Trulli demonstrated that amazing ability. Mum had to lie out, the sciatica pain quite excruciating in her lower back. Trulli jumped up and aligned himself perfectly along the line of her pain. She said the warmth and gentle vibration from his purring was more soothing than some of the painkillers they've tried her on though I doubt you'll get kittens on prescription.

As Charles Dickens said "What greater gift than the love of a cat?"

Interbreeding

At Christmas I got a pair of novelty slippers. They look like cows, are huge and moo if you press on the right spot.

Last night, I found Funny Bunny my cat being, ahem, overly friendly with the slippers. He is neutered but obviously the beauty of bovine slippers overrides the lack of testicles.

Tonight I am sat in my study. My slippers and Funny Bunny are in my bedroom. I've just heard the slippers moo. Funny Bunny obviously pressed the right spot.

It really is something when your footwear gets more loving than you.

A Happy Tail

Almost recovered from last week!

On Wednesday we had our first cat case since the festival.

Cassie and her kittens were brought to us as a rescue case just hours after the kittens were born. The pink and red dye on their fur is because she had set up home in a flower distributors yard and had sat in dyes used to colour petals. Thankfully not harmful just makes a beautiful tortie even more colourful! And it matches my Download hair and you know how we girls like to co-ordinate!

She was very frightened when we first saw her but as this shows she is now a very content mum, with ensuite facilities and room service, located in my bedroom!
