Had a ride out today (how very Bank Holiday of us!) and went to Breedon on the Hill Church which is a real gem. Amazing, ornate and macabre marble sculpture inside, original carved stone from the Monastery included in the build, old box pews - well worth a visit. And this weekend it was their annual flower festival tooboot which meant the best homemade ginger cake ever and a cup of tea! I should write a more detailed post but untiul then here are some snaps from today...

Cool church. I actually like churches (with a small 'c') which seems to surprise people.
Trust you enjoyed the tea and ginger cake.

I've been there, you are SO surprised :D Although they weren't serving ginger cake :( Churches can be good for home made cake I recommend St Andrew's Chippenham.

No Pete, I'm not surprised you have been there ;-)
Great pics, I also like churches, but not in a religious sense. That sculpture (is it a tomb?) is extremely macabre.

Nice blog hon. Nice church too. From the contents of men's bottoms (let's not go there! er - I mean even figuratively!) to church architecture in one blog. You got range honey!
