I have had a good dose of my favourite sports this weekend. The MotoGP from Turkey supplied some fantastic racing and a podium that proved MotoGP is in safe hands with a new generation. Winner Marco Melandri put on an electrifying ride to take a last gasp victory from Casey Stoner who is fast turning into the sensation of the series. Finishing off the podium, Nicky Hayden never fails to race in a style that has me hiding behind the cushion generating a fear horror directors would envy.
The average age of that podium - 22. We have a lot of good racing ahead.
From the high octane world of MotoGP, I tuned into the World Snooker Final between Graeme Dott and Peter Ebdon.
I wouldn't usually advocate drugs in sport but please, someone give these two something to speed them up. The match has been the snooker equivalent of mogadon.
Something that was having no problems getting a move on was Shakey Byrne's stomach today. The British Superbike racer was suffering from a violent stomach bug yet still managed to compete in the races at Oulton Park and get on the podium in both races! A success with the runs (in a non-cricket sense).
The races were the usual British Superbike fare of fender to fender action and congratulations to Gregorio Lavilla on another dominant double.
<< Shakey Byrne. My Rider of the Day at Oulton Park. Surely an Imodium sponsorship deal should follow?
Is it just motorbike racing that you like, then, or all motor sports? I enjoy a NASCAR race now and then, but I am not CRAZED like many fans.

I watch most motorsports but motorbikes are my favourite.
I work with young racing drivers and a British team so tend to follow whatever series they are in the closest (mostly Sportscars and Le Mans related), and after that I have had my fill of motorsport and need a *little* time for other things! But some people can become all consumed in it, can't they?

The second British Superbike race was a blinder wasn't it? Real edge of the seat stuff, even by the usual standards.
I'm not a fan of most motorsports, but I love bike racing. So much so, I can even indentify tracks by sight. How sad is that LOL
