A new look for the new year (the blog, not me). It all looks a bit small so perhaps you should sidle up to the screen a bit more...but it is fresh and a change!
I will not be making new year resolutions. Indeed the charity MIND have said it can be detrimental to your mental health if you do and as I am quite capable of sending myself doolally by other means I shall agree with their advice.
I will instead look to the positives and strive on with hope in my heart as if I'd swallowed a self help book. Actually, I have recently been converted to the magazine Psychologieswhich is very much about well being and being positive though with the usual happy-clappiness associated with such things removed thus making it palatable for an English woman.
With regards to 'proper' work I am continuing with a number of motorsport projects and am looking forward to a new season with them. I have also just started with a new national race series set to launch this year and with the birth of anything new it is exciting and inspiring.
I will endeavour this year to make sure whilst I'm facilitating other people's dreams I don't forget my own. With work and health problems in the family last year everything was a blur of 'get through the day'.
There was one moment though where I stole five minutes one day to write a sketch to send to the (new) producer of the radio show I worked with in the past. I desperately didn't want anyone to think I was no longer bothered or had lost interest - that couldn't be further from the truth. I sent the one idea in and it has gone forward to the recording (whether it makes the cut for the broadcast show I will let you know). It was a small chip at the mine face but it is enough to keep me down the pit!
So even if you only have the energy/time/opportunity to plant one acorn this 2009, do it! Who knows what you will harvest further down the line.
