Being Thankful

The cold that struck me last weekend has really stuck in and had me laid low for many days, sleeping the clock round on more than one occassion. I've trapped a nerve in my neck and am stooped like Quasimodo. The Christmas lights failed. I haven't opened my packet of Christmas cards let alone written them. The telephone bill arrived. I've a to-do list a mile long. I missed the gym Xmas party because of the flu. I am the luckiest girl in the world because all that is trivial, will pass and is all to the backdrop of a loving home with enough spare change to indulge in some disposable festive fancies. Not everyone is so lucky and at a time when the news brings home the troubled lives of others, there for the Grace of God go we.

When The Fat Lady Sang...

Sadly I didn't make it to the final ten of the writing team for Sketch Factor, but hey ho, I still get to send in submissions at the start of next year for consideration for the show so let's see if I can get 15 seconds of fame on Radio 4 in 2007 - I will keep you updated!

Considering I'd never written a sketch before I don't think that is too bad of an outcome for a novice and perhaps this is a better position for me to plug away from (see how gracious I am!). At the workshop there were definitely a few people there who had fully developed funny bones as opposed to my amusing cartilage. 

I have a raging head cold and spent most of the weekend in bed, missing the one Christmas party I was looking forward too so am not in the overall brightest of moods though ironically my nose is very bright.
