The thick (and thin) of it

Yes my obsession with the Daily Mail continues but is there no end with their obsession with celebrity's' figures and looks (usually celebs of the female persuasion). And then if you really want to set depression in, read some of the readers' comments.

Today Mischa Barton (an actress I'm not really aware of) has gone from a size 12 to a size 6. Sorry let me get that right: shockingly Mischa has gone from a healthy size 12 to a gaunt size 6.

Last week Jessica Simpson went from a sexy size 6 to being a 'bigger' (snigger) star in a fuller size 12.

Somehow both of these stories are news and I think somewhere in there is what is meant to be right for women, possibly, maybe....the stories certainly come across as judgemental but depending on the day I'm never too sure what the Daily Mail's judgement is.

I'm off to eat a lard sandwich.

Snow Day

The problem with working for yourself, from home is that come an exciting snow day like yesterday, you can't ive yourself time off. I mean the snow would have to be 'Day After Tomorrow' bad to stop me getting across the landing to my study...

I did grab some photos though, starting with the tree I look out onto from my study

At 8.30pm I did sneak a break to build a mini snowman, but only one eye would stick on his face so I called him Nelson

Before I start today's post just to say yes my sketch did get aired on radio 4...and I missed it! So let's assume it was hilarious.

Today's post involves comedy in the news.

The Daily Mail, bastion of morals, has changed Brand - Jo for Russell.

After Sachsgate, Jo Brand is now the centre of a police investigation (waste of resources anyone?).

Ironically because of Sachsgate Jonathan Ross's Friday night show was suspended and replaced by Live at the Apollo. Jo Brand was one of the performers. In light of the posting of the BNP member list on the internet Jo quipped "at leastwe know where to send the poo to now".

Storms and teacups. But what I found funniest of all was the Daily Mail asterixed out the word poo in the headline!

So when singing along to The Killers 'All These Things That I've Done', I no longer had "soul, but I'm not a soldier".
