So here goes....P....
People: I love people watching, especially at outdoor concerts. Some people may call it being nosey but I like to term it inquisitiveness. I like to think people are basically good and try to find that in everyone I meet unless they are hellbent on proving otherwise. I like to communicate with people but not have them in my space too much. I think being an only child from the sticks I am used to and like my own space and company.
Pussycats: I think it goes without saying if you look around this blog that I am fond of my furry friends whether permanent residents or guests. I love the independence and confidence cats have, if anything I envy it.
Potatos: hail the king of the veg patch. I love potatoes in any form - fry 'em, mash 'em, roast 'em just eat 'em. The jacket spud is the most comforting food and infact will be on my menu tomorrow night, covered in butter and cheese. And, they are great fun to grow too. I love harvesting potatoes, the thrill of turning over the soil and rooting for the spuds.
Primary School: I had a primary school experience many won't have had or ever will have. A village primary school surrounded by farm land, what a setting. In my primary school there were 11 pupils at one point, not 11 in my class, 11 in the whole school! We were all taught at our own speed so it was almost like having a private tutor until I was 11. I was put a year ahead in effect, fell in love with books and learning in the most glorious enviroment. Happy days.
Physics: staying on the educational tract, physics. I enjoyed sciences as school though I was somewhat railroaded into doing them at the school I attended for my A-levels. The leap from GSCE to A-level physics was a strain. My A-level Physics teacher was a gem, the spitting image of Penfold from Dangermouse who desperately tried to translate what was an alien language in my eyes. I struggled on and remain very proud of the C Grade I eventually got.
Portugal: when Formula One was still interesting, many moons ago, we would go to the Portuguese Grand Prix each year. It was held at Estoril and we would stay on the Lisbon coast, just a few miles from the circuit, in Cascais. I could fill pages and pages with the happy memories and gossip from those trips. The GP would often fall around my birthday to add to the celebrations. I would love to return one day soon, perhaps for the MotoGP which visits now.
Purple: one of my favourite colours to dye my hair.
Pantomime: what a great British institution the panto is. Going to the panto was one of the highlights of the festive season for me as a child be it the local am-dram production or the one at nearby Theatre with such big names as the Chuckle Brothers, Stu Francis or Bernie Clifton - I've seen the best of Panto, I have. If there was a chance to be on the stage I was there in a shot telling jokes...perhaps this is when the seeds of loving comedy were truly sown.
Pompeii: Pompeii is a place I would love to visit. Everyone I know who has been there has raved about it and it fascinates me. I also love the film and series Up Pompeii, in fact I watched the film on dvd on Saturday for the umpteenth time. I have every intention of visiting the real Pompeii one day and reeling off every Frankie Howerd joke I can remember. Mmmm, now to think up what my character name would have been in Up Pompeii...
Pens: I love pens, in fact all stationary but especially pens. I go through phases of having a favourite, special and/or lucky pen.
So there you have it. I have gotten through the Meme of ten things beginning with P without mentioning penis because I am a classy bird, that and it would just be my theory on how male genitalia proves there is a God with a sense of humour.
