Paul O'Grady is on in the background and just reminded me of a news story I saw a while back but never blogged about.
Soil may help combat depression. A bug in soil has been identified as being some form of natural anitdepressant, and I thought it was the sheds that made people on allotments happy.
I hereby predict that in a short time you will be able to buy compost with this bug added.
If getting your hands dirty is too much for you, you can at least look at the pictures from the Chelsea Flower Show which surely cannot fail in making you smile.
I am so pleased Sarah Eberle won best in show for The Bradstone Garden which she has designed after years of research as to how a garden may work for an astronaut based on Mars. It looks a fascinating space and every detail has been thought through - even a carob tree so there'd be chocolate on Mars! And a sunken part where you could chill out but with a chain rope round the edge to pop your feet under to keep you grounded in Mars gravity!
I also like the Fortnum and Mason garden - very traditional, some really simple but effective water features surrounded by box and beehives.
Some good coverage from the Beeb too....I almsot forgive them for Holby Blue now..

I love gardens. I love the Chelsea Flower Show and am always filled with envy at what they produce. Unfortunately, plants hate me - hate me with a vengeance, a fact I have just written about on my own blog. I have just read your "profile" and had a giggle. So you've met Michael Jackson - not my favourite person, but wow! You really ought to write that novel; you definitely have a nice touch when it comes to comedy.
